Growth and Development Assessment

As part of your child's dental exam, we observe the different stages of his or her growth and development during the primary, mixed, and permanent dentition. This assessment includes the recognition and diagnosis of any dental abnormalities of your child's developing dentition and occlusion. Monitoring the developing dentition throughout the eruption period at regular dental examinations, along with early diagnosis and treatment can be beneficial to a patient's oral health, function, and aesthetics. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends children be evaluated by an orthodontic specialist by age 7.
